The skincare and cosmetics market is flooded with hundreds of products to improve your appearance in some shape or form. While a little help is always a good thing, what’s not good is the nasty chemicals and preservatives lurking in many of these products.
It’s unreasonable to stop using all cosmetics just because you’re trying to get pregnant, I mean, you have to wash your hair right? So I’ve spent a lot of time researching what products are safe to recommend to my clients so that they can try and have the best of both worlds.
One of my favourite brands to recommend is Beauty Counter. They offer a HUGE range of skincare, makeup and haircare products at affordable prices AND without the nasty additives.
The United States has not passed a major federal law to regulate the safety of ingredients used in personal care products since 1938.
Isn’t that scary! This means that any cosmetic company can put basically whatever they want into their products without penalty. This means that it’s up to the consumer to do their own due diligence to make sure what’s in their product is not harmful. Thankfully, Beauty Counter has done that for us.
My Favourite Mask!
This nutrient-rich kaolin clay mask purifies and balances, absorbing excess oil and drawing out impurities. Activated charcoal minimizes the appearance of pores, giving skin a smooth, refined appearance while salicylic acid stimulates exfoliation. Perfect for all skin types and those concerned with congestion and oily skin.
Shop Now“There are more than 80,000 chemicals on the market today. Many don’t have any safety data. This is particularly true of those used in the skin care and beauty industry.”
