Dr. Marc Sklar:

There are so many reasons, why your body could be making it a little bit harder to get pregnant. Some of those things, really have profound impacts on our ability to reproduce, and hold a healthy pregnancy. Stress being one of them. Whether it’s from lifestyle factors, life related issues, work related issues. These can all impact your fertility, because stress is stress regardless of where it comes from. Then there’s sleep. If you’re not getting good quality sleep, regular sleep at a good rhythm. Whether it’s because you’re a mom, and you’re waking up because you’ve got a little one. Or you’ve got night shift activity going on for work, and that’s throwing things off. Your circadian rhythm absolutely is essential, for good proper functioning reproductive system and endocrine system. We need to make sure you’re getting the best sleep possible. And anxiety. All of these things that I just mentioned, will make it more difficult to manage your anxiety. Anxiety alone can complicate things.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

These are real factors that can impact your fertility. For the story of Hope that I am about to share with all of you, these were absolutely real variables that impacted her fertility. Which is exactly why I’m sharing the story with you, because I want you to understand all the different related issues that might impact your fertility. This story is really going to speak to all of you, and hopefully give you the hope that you need to keep pushing forward, and get the results that you want. Before we get into her story, I do want to give a big shout out to the sponsor of this video FERTILEMIND. FERTILEMIND is an app that you can use, to help you train your mind to deal with the stress in this world. This is a mindfulness app, dedicated specifically to fertility. Dr. Marc Sklar:

Hi, my name is Dr. Marc Sklar, the fertility expert. I’ve been working with couples from all over the world for over 19 years, through my online coaching programs, and right here in San Diego at my clinic. Stress, and sleep, and anxiety are things that we look at every day, to help all of you get pregnant. Because they’re real things that impact your fertility. Now it’s time to finally hear from her. She says a lot of amazing things, really important things in this video. Some of the things she actually doesn’t share, is about her specific case. I am going to share some of that information throughout this video, but I want to start with you hearing from her. So let’s jump into that.

Kristen:

I have been trying to conceive for… I can’t remember exactly how long, before we reached out to Dr. Sklar. I know it was quite a while, and we were frustrated just with not conceiving ever. There were luckily no miscarriages either, but just frustrated that I could never conceive. I’m in the medical field myself, I’m a physician. But I believe in a lot of alternative healthcare, and holistic healthcare. I really liked what I heard from Dr. Sklar’s online videos, that I had seen previously. Probably about a year prior to contacting him. I had found his stuff on YouTube, and it really just resonated with me and stuck with me.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

I want to touch on a couple of things she said here. She started off saying how frustrated she was, with trying and not getting the results that she wanted. I know that this speaks true for so many of you out there, but I want all of you to use that frustration as motivation to get answers. To get the support that you need, and to get the proper results that you deserve, just like she did. She used it as motivation to move forward.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

The other thing that I think is impactful about what she said, is that she’s a physician. We’re all human. We’re all just trying to get around, get along in this world, and get the results that we’re looking for. For her, she was trying to get pregnant. Even though she’s a physician, doesn’t mean she’s got all the answers. That’s not her specialty, and so the same thing for all of you. She realized that she needed support. You all have to realize that you need support sometimes too in proper coaching. What are you going to do about it? Now she said, she saw my videos a year prior, and it took her a year to reach out, but she finally did reach out. I think that most important thing of what she said so far.

Kristen:

I’m older. Let’s see, I’m 39 now. I was probably 36 I’m guessing. 35 or 36 when I reached out to him. Just knowing that I was getting older, and that things weren’t probably going to get better.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

As the time starts ticking, and we start feeling that pressure, that is the normal reaction that we all need. We all figure out that we need a little bit more support, and the same thing with her. I don’t necessarily call 36 being older, but that is the diagnosis. That is the clarification, the definition, in the fertility world, that once you hit 35 and older, you are classified as being older. That’s where she’s getting that definition from.

Kristen:

I already lead a very healthy lifestyle, as far as my diet, and my activity level. My work lifestyle is very hard on my body.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

This is important. She said, I already live a healthy lifestyle. She absolutely does. When she told me all the things that she does, and how she manages her health, I was surprised that she was dealing with all the things she was dealing with. Sometimes living a healthy lifestyle, doing all the right things, isn’t enough one to get answers or get results. If we have other aspects of our life or work that are not perfect, that can absolutely outweigh all the good that you’re doing. Which is what we’re about to hear from her right now.

Kristen:

I’m an ER doctor, and so I have to work all different hours. I know that can affect your fertility, with the circadian rhythm being screwed up. I was still just like, maybe it’s true. Maybe my poor endocrine system just can’t overcome all the stress of my work schedule. It’s a very stressful job obviously, even though I enjoy what I do. It’s still a lot of stress on your body.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

Just because you love what you do, doesn’t mean that it’s not stressful. For her, that was the case. It will was stressful in a different way. That going, being in the ER is constantly taxing your adrenals. That impacts your overall health, so that is a big issue there. That was so much of an impact, that it outweighed all the good she was doing. When she wasn’t working, when she wasn’t in the ER. We do have to find proper balance there as well. One of the things she doesn’t mention, and I am going to just touch on it briefly here, is she had other hormonal issues that she didn’t mention.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

We needed to look at everything. That stress piece was really impacting her endocrine system, and causing a disruption in multiple areas having to do with her hormones. She was having more thyroid issues. She was having estrogen issues as well. These are all impacted, or for her specifically were impacted by her stress. We absolutely needed to manage that, and her circadian rhythm, and sleep as a result of her work schedule. Which is not always possible to change, because if you’re on a night shift, you’re on a night shift. We do want to try to change that if we can.

Kristen:

I didn’t want to work with the traditional OB guy. I knew that they weren’t going to be very helpful to me, and because I know what the traditional medical system will tell me. I really liked how in Dr. Sklar’s videos, he described the process that he goes through for women. How thorough he is, and individualized care.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

Sometimes we just need a different perspective, and that’s what she realized. She knew that the only answer she was going to be given was IVF, because that’s the standard approach in that world. That’s okay for so many people. I have nothing against it whatsoever, but she wanted a different path. She wanted different options, and she wanted an individualized approach to her needs. The reality is for what she was going through, that was the best approach for her. To get her real results, to get her a real plan moving forward, to get the results that she wanted. So that’s why she reached out to me.

Kristen:

I just wanted to exhaust all of our resources, trying to do things more holistically, naturally before proceeding to IVF. That’s how we got to work with Dr. Sklar. He’s has passion for this, and he has worked so hard at what he does for years. That he just is a wealth of knowledge. He’s a wealth of knowledge-

Dr. Marc Sklar:

We can hear her baby.

Kristen:

If there’s any way that you can financially afford that, whatever option you can afford, it’s well worth it. It’ll increase your odds of becoming pregnant, and achieving your dreams dramatically, and increase your overall health. Even as a physician, I’m not certified in reproductive endocrinology. That’s not my specialty. Dr. Sklar is brilliant. He’s done this for years. He’s passionate about it. He’s research… Mommy’s on the phone. Here’s my little tod. Now we have our little toddler that’s in the other room.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

She realized where her limits were. I think that’s an important message as well from her. Is that we all have to recognize, and understand where our limitations are. When we need some additional support and coaching, just like she did. That is going to be at different places for all of you. It is an important thing to realize and recognize, so that you can get the results that you deserve. I do also want to mention, that her plan was not just about taking some supplements. That was a part of it, but we also needed to manage her lifestyle. Address the stress, address the sleeping issues, the anxiety that was associated with all of that. Even though she said she ate a good diet, there is still some tweaking and adjusting that needs to happen. Good or great diet, isn’t the same for each one of us, based on our individual needs and diagnosis.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

Those are some of the things that we did for her, to get her results. You saw a little glimpse of her little one on the screen, as she shared her for just a moment with all of us. That is what’s possible for all of you, if we get the right process, the right plan, and the right support. So if you’ve been trying a little longer than you would like, just like she was, and you want a new set of eyes, a new perspective, a fresh perspective on your case, to hopefully get you the right plan and the right results, then I want to invite you to apply for my Hope Fertility Coaching Program.
