Easy Lifestyle Hacks to Balance your Hormones
#1 IMPROVING SLEEP
Resting your body, getting enough quality sleep is key to hormonal health. Having a better sleep starts before you get to bed. Everything you do during the day is impacting the quality of your rest.
A circadian rhythm is a roughly 24 hour cycle in the physiological processes of living beings, including plants, animals, fungi and cyanobacteria. In a strict sense, circadian rhythms are endogenously generated, although they can be modulated by external cues such as sunlight and temperature. In other words, you need to be aware of daylight and other factors so your body knows what to do when it’s time to rest.
Trick #1 to Improve Sleep – VITAMIN N
Expose yourself to “Vitamin N” (nature!) Going outside, being in the sun *even it it’s not sunny, our body needs to be out in nature, fully aware that’s day time. When was the last time you went outside for a walk, just to soak all the benefits of the sun and Vitamin “N”? I suggest you try doing that today! As soon as you’re done reading this tips to improve your hormones, go out, talk to your skin cells so they are even more aware of the sun and the light!
Trick #2 to Improve Sleep – REDUCE BLUE LIGHT:
As sleep quality is so important to the mind and body, knowing there’s an accessory out there which can help to improve sleep is really exciting for those who suffer with problems sleeping and are looking for ways to improve their sleep naturally. Having poor sleep can have a great impact on your mood, hormones and fertility. And though it’s impossible to remove blue light from your life altogether in this modern world, it is possible to reduce its effects on your health and wellbeing by wearing a simple pair of glasses for as little as one hour a day.
Screens are a massive part of our modern lives, and while we can limit the amount of time we use them in the evening, eradicating them altogether is just not a realistic expectation. Aiming to use your devices more responsibly is fundamental to the overall quality of your sleep and the elimination of the effects that blue light exposure can have on it.
Swannies Glasses have been designed to block out the blue light that’s being emitted from all light-emitting electronic devices and artificial lighting. Wearing the glasses for as little as one hour before you go to bed has been shown to significantly reduce the effects of blue light exposure on sleep (using them for longer periods of time, or all of the time when you are viewing a screen will have a greater effect).
Blocking blue light allows your body to properly prepare for sleep, so you can fall asleep faster, and sleep better, all night long.
Trick #3 to improve sleep – CHECK OUT YOUR BEDROOM

Trick #4 to improve sleep – MOVE YOUR BODY
Can you see how this comes hand in hand with trick #1? You can do both at the same time! Go move your body while you get some Vitamin “N”. Get sweaty, enjoy the sunlight.. And sleep better at night!
Trick #5 to improve sleep: HAVE A SLEEP SCHEDULE:
Like babies, right? To make sure a baby has a good night sleep, we make sure they have a sleep routine. Going to bed at the same time, starting to calm your body and mind a couple hours before going to bed, having some cool down habits you always do before going to bed.. Sounds simple, right? We do that with our kids and it works! Why not doing it with ourselves? Super tip – set an alarm about 10pm – 11pm reminding you it’s time to go to bed!
Your sleep and rest have a big impact on your hormonal health. When you close your eyes and get your zzzzzz’s your body starts the process of recovery. We don’t think much about what happens when we sleep but this could be the most powerful thing our body does. It’s during this restful time that your blood pressure drops and your muscles & tissues repair themselves. But when it comes to your hormones this rest is crucial for your adrenal function to reset and recover. This recovery helps you restore your energy. This is also when your body secretes human growth hormone. These functions are important to maintain proper hormone balance and keep your fertility healthy.
