How long DOES it take to Improve Egg Quality

Transcription :

Welcome to the fifth video in my miniseries, dedicated to helping you improve your egg quality. This video series is where I teach you so much about improving your egg quality, how to improve your AMH and better your ovarian reserve. That’s right. You heard me. This is video number five. It’s actually the last video in this video series. So if you’re watching this video first, it means that you have missed videos one through four in this series. And I want to encourage you to go back and check out those videos, because they’re super important. That’s where I go in-depth and I’m very comprehensive in all the areas, the different areas you need to be looking at and addressing to improve your ovarian reserve and egg quality. So if you missed those videos, I’m going to leave the links, the direct links to each one of those videos in the description below so you can check that out.

You can also get it by clicking on that little eye right over here. But wait, don’t go click any of those links just yet. Watch this one first, then go back and watch the others if you already miss them. In addition, I have not been able to cover all the material, all the information that I wanted to share with all of you in this miniseries, which tells you there’s so much more for all of you to learn and understand if you really want to improve your egg quality and ovarian reserve. So, because I wasn’t able to cover all of that, I am creating a reproductive anti-aging masterclass that I want to invite all of you to join me for. It’s free. All you have to do is register to join me in that masterclass. And to register, all you have to do is use the link in the description below. It’s not going to be hosted here on YouTube. To join me for it, you do have to register, because it won’t be right here on YouTube. So make sure you register to join me for that using the link below.

For those of you who are new to my channel, and don’t know who I am. I am Dr. Marc Sklar, also known as the fertility expert, and welcome To FertilityTV, your YouTube channel dedicated to helping you get pregnant. I’ve been working with couples for over 18 years through my online programs and right here in San Diego at both of my clinics. Regardless of where you live in the world, I can support you. If you live here, obviously in San Diego, come and visit me in one of my clinics. But if you are anywhere else outside of Southern California, then I encourage you to check out one of my online programs to see if it’s the right fit for you.

So in all the four previous videos, I have given you practical, useful information of things that you can be doing to improve your egg quality and ovarian reserve, like improving your diet. And I went into detail in some of those areas. Also what supplements you can be doing, lifestyle changes. I also dove a bit deeper in the first couple of videos on testing and exactly what these lab tests mean, and what they’re showing about your reproductive health and ovarian reserve. This video is going to be a little bit different because I want to talk about timing. Timing could potentially be one of, if not the most important thing in this whole process as we start talking about how you can improve all of these variables when it comes to getting pregnant and improving your fertility. Timing is often the one piece that gets overlooked or tries to get forced.

So I want to dive deeper into this topic, because I do think it can make a significant difference on your journey to help you get the results that you’re looking for. So how long does it actually take to improve egg quality? Well, this is a process that’s called follicular genesis. It’s the evolution and growth and maturation of the follicles in your ovaries from being immature and primordial to mature follicles that rupture and ovulate an egg that you can use for fertilization, and hopefully implantation and pregnancy. But this takes time. I often hear, “Well, how quickly? I want to get pregnant quickly. I want to get pregnant fast. I want to improve my egg quality quickly. What can I do?” There are certain things that you can certainly do on a short timeframe to start to impact your reproductive health and fertility. But timing is not one of them.

The last timeframe that you can impact and improve your egg quality is roughly a three to four month timeframe. So the eggs that you are ovulating this month, that’s right. The eggs that you are releasing this month were actually chosen three to four months ago. And that’s why that’s the last time that you can actually influence them. So what does all the benefit of all these lifestyle changes, all the supplements, the acupuncture, the exercise, sleep, what is it actually doing? Well, all of those things are starting to impact the quality and health of the cells in your body, and specifically in your ovaries. But we don’t flip a light switch. We don’t just snap our fingers, we make those changes, and then, poof, everything’s fine. Let’s just say I gave you one magic pill today to take, and it’s called the improve egg quality pill, right?

You take it, egg quality’s fixed. If you take it today, it still is going to take three to four months for your body to ovulate the eggs that were impacted by that pill. So let that digest for a moment. It needs time. That’s assuming that everything switches on one day, one moment, one pill, which doesn’t happen, right? I was creating a false scenario that doesn’t exist. All of this stuff takes time. And after a couple of months, two, three months, maybe even longer, you have started to impact the quality of the cells. You’ve started to impact the mitochondrial function, and you’ve started to improve your egg quality and ovarian reserve, but you’re not going to see that in that month or possibly even the next, it still takes time to see that in the future, which is why time is so important, possibly the most important, and why I’m talking about it today.

So this means that you need time to prep. You need time to prep to lay the foundation, right? And I often tell all the couples that I work with, it can easily take two to three months to lay the foundation so that you can build upon that, right? A house is not built overnight, and it takes time to build that foundation. We’re doing the same thing for you and your fertility. So it can easily take two to three months to build that foundation. And then from there, you will start to see the real impacts and results of what you’re trying to achieve. So I want to encourage all of you, don’t force it. It’s not going to happen that way. Give yourself the space, the opportunity, the time to make these things happen so that you’re not under pressure, that you’re not causing more stress for yourself, and you’re letting your body respond to the changes that you’re making so that you can actually see those results.

So I want to encourage you all, in a perfect world to give yourself six months. Now, for some of you that might not be possible. And that’s okay, but we want to give yourself as much time as possible to lay the foundation and see the results of the labor that you’ve put into that. So we want a minimum of three months of time to put in that foundation. Preferably the first three months are that foundation. And then the next three months, we’re going to see those results come to fruition. Now, I often get questions from all of you, whether it’s here on YouTube, on Instagram, through my email, I also get the same questions with those couples who are working with me privately in one of my coaching programs. And it’s always, “Well, I want to go through IVF next month. I’m planning to do IVF next month. I want to start trying next month. What can I do now?” Well, starting now, sooner, better than later is obviously ideal. But again, it’s not an ideal scenario without giving yourself at least three months time to prepare.

You wouldn’t just run, start at the marathon, you’re wanting to run a marathon, you wouldn’t just start at the starting line without doing any preparation or training. And preparing your fertility, doing the preconception work that I’m describing right now takes time and effort. So we want to give you that ability to create that space to allow your body to respond to the changes. And I have to tell you, I see this over and over and over again. Okay. I’ve shared these stories with all of you often, but the couples that I see get the best results, and get the results that they’re looking for are the couples that take a step back. They’re not forcing everything. They give themselves the space, the opportunity for their body to respond to all the changes that they’re making. That’s when they start to see the results that they’re looking for.

And I have a woman that comes to mind specifically, she had a lot of issues, but she wasn’t seeing the results. Her diet wasn’t appropriate. Her lifestyle wasn’t appropriate. And most of all, she was really stressed. So I gave her a plan. I laid the foundation for her to see those results. And after three months, she was frustrated. She said, “Mark, I’m not seeing the results. I’m not getting pregnant.” And I said to her, “Look, you’re doing all the right things. Now’s not the time to change anything. You’re improving in so many areas. Now’s the time to stay the course, to be patient, and to see and allow your body to achieve the results that it’s trying to achieve, because you’ve already laid that foundation.” And sure enough, it did take her a little bit longer than she was hoping. It took her seven months, but she got pregnant after seven months. That’s really in the grand scheme of things, not a long time, especially considering she had been trying for years and didn’t get those results.

Sometimes we need to actually give ourselves more time and opportunity to get the results that we want versus forcing everything and pushing everything so that we can try to get those results much faster. That’s often when it doesn’t happen because we create more stress. And that compromises the changes that you’re making. IVF is actually no different. I know that all of you are told when you go in for IVF, and I don’t have an issue if you’re going through IVF. I really don’t. I know that you’re told that time is imperative. That it’s doomsday, and you have to move forward now. Well here, I’m going to give you two scenarios. If you’re not going to be proactive, if you’re not going to make any changes, if you’re not going to create a plan for yourself to make changes and see the results that you’re looking for, then absolutely, a hundred percent, I agree, move forward with the IVF now.

But if you are going to be proactive, if you are going to take more time control over your situation, your hormones, your reproductive health, then I encourage you to give yourself a little bit of time and space to see the results that you’re looking for. It doesn’t always make sense to push forward without making the necessary changes and laying the foundation to see those results. All the things I’m talking about in videos one through four, you’re not going to see those results right in a day, in a week, in a month. You need to give it time and opportunity. And so instead of pushing forward and rushing forward, even though I know you’re scared and that you’ve been told that things don’t look good for you, and you need to move forward with the IVF right now, I want you to take that fear out of your head. I want you to ignore it for a little bit of time, and I want you to focus on the things you can control. Age is not one of them, but you can control everything else.

So take a step back, move forward with the plan that’s in place. Hopefully there’s a plan in place. And if not, you can reach out to me and my team to help you create a plan that’s personalized for you. But, move forward with a plan that’s customized to make the changes that you want. To improve egg quality and ovarian reserve. And then give it a little bit of time so that you can see those results. And I promise you, you’ll be much better off going forward with IVF when that time comes, than you would be today. We want to get you results. Now you need to give yourself the opportunity and time to see those results come to fruition by giving yourself the opportunity with a plan and actually giving yourself the opportunity to work the plan so that you can actually see those results. Remember, we’re trying to improve the DNA damage that you’ve caused on yourselves. And we all do this, right? No blaming. We all do this on a regular basis or have, we cause damage to ourselves all the time. We’re trying to improve this. And that takes time.

We’re trying to influence in a positive way, the mitochondrial function of your cells. That takes time. It doesn’t happen overnight. And we want to improve the follicle cells before they develop and become into eggs. And that takes time. So I want to encourage all of you, take a step back, and give yourself an opportunity to see these results. What happens though, if you decide to push on through, you’re like, “I just don’t have the time, and I’m feeling the pressure.” Wherever it’s coming from. “And I want to move forward now. Keep trying naturally or with IVF. What happens if I do?” Well, there’s two scenarios, actually three scenarios. Hopefully it works out. That’s the first scenario. But the two more likely scenarios that I often see is that you move forward. Hopefully the egg gets fertilized, but often it doesn’t, but if it does get fertilized, then the next step is that it has to implant. And that can be challenging if we haven’t done the preparation work, if we haven’t laid that foundation.

But let’s just say, that’s scenario number one, by the way, let’s just say we move past that. We actually get implantation. Then often, if we haven’t done this preparation work, what we do see is a miscarriage, a pregnancy loss, and all of those things are unfortunate. And I don’t want any of you to go through any of those things. So again, I want to encourage you. I actually want to invite all of you to take a step back, decrease your stress, give yourself the space, the opportunity to make changes for yourself, for your health, for your future baby. Remember that the preconception work that you do now, this foundation that you lay now is not just foundation work that you’re laying to get pregnant, but it’s foundational work that you are laying to have a healthy baby, so that they have a healthy life. So it goes into multiple avenues. It has far reaching effects.

So I want to invite all of you once again, to take a step back, to create the space, the time necessary to make the appropriate changes that we’ve been talking about in this miniseries, so that you can see the results that you desire. If you want more information on this topic, reproductive anti-aging, what do you need to do to improve your egg quality, your ovarian reserve, lower your FSH, increase your AMH, all the things we’ve been discussing. And I want to invite you once again to join me for my free masterclass training on this topic. I haven’t been able to cover all the areas, all the details that I’ve wanted to because of time. And most of all, I haven’t been able to really answer any of your questions as well as we’ve gone through this miniseries. So I want to invite you to join me into that masterclass. Where not only am I going to be able to share much more information with all of you, but best of all, I’m going to be able to answer all of your questions in my live Q and A at the end of the masterclass.

But remember, you’ve got to register for it. So to register, use the link in the description below, and I do really hope to see you all in that masterclass. If you know you’re ready to take a step back, that you want to create the space to have a customized plan, to get the results that you’re looking for, but you don’t have that plan yet, and you need some guidance, then I want to invite you all to apply to qualify for a discovery call with my team to see if you’re the right fit for one of my coaching programs. To do that, all you have to do is use the link in the description below to apply.
