How to get pregnant with Unexplained Infertility?
Transcription:
Dr. Marc Sklar:
Welcome to fertility TV, your YouTube channel, dedicated to everything fertility and helping you get pregnant. Last week, and in the past, I put out some real live case studies for all of you to listen to, and hopefully inspire all of you. And the feedback has been awesome. And really, it sounds like that it’s been so impactful and helpful to all of you. So that’s why this week I’m doing another video, just like that, to help show you what can be done to improve your fertility and help you get pregnant naturally.
Dr. Marc Sklar:
In this video, we’re going to be talking about Zareen, who had been, trying to get pregnant for three years. Saw eight different doctors, one IUI, and kept being told that she had unexplained infertility. And most importantly, we’re going to talk about how she got pregnant after three months of following my plan. She’s originally from India, moved to the U.S. for work and has been living in the U.S. for quite some time.
Dr. Marc Sklar:
And as I do with most of the couples that I help conceive, I did everything virtually and online for her. And if you’re new here, I’m Dr. Marc Sklar, The Fertility Expert, and I worked with couples from all over the world, helping you get pregnant with my virtual online programs and consultations.
Dr. Marc Sklar:
Before we get started, I have an announcement and an invitation for you. If you’ve been trying for over six months, this is what you’ve been waiting for. I want to invite you to a free fertility training, where I will teach you the five steps for a positive pregnancy that I used with her and thousands of other women that I helped get pregnant. There are so many things that you can do to improve your fertility that you might not be doing, because nobody told you. Register for free at marcsklar.com/positivepregnancy to save your spot for my free training. Now let’s get started with her story.
Zareen:
Me and my husband, we started trying for baby in 2012, around July. And after trying for a year, I did not conceive. So, I was back in India then when we approached a gynecologist and she ignored some basic, very basic tests and everything was okay in results, vitamins and basic blood count and things like that. So…
Dr. Marc Sklar:
So this is very common, right? We’re told that we need to try for a little bit of time before we know if there’s really a problem. And so if you’re under 35, the standard time to try for is a year. And if you’re over 35, the standard recommended time to try is six months. And after that time, just like her, many of you may have reached out to your OBGYN to see what was going on and do some initial testing. Now, the testing that she did, and many of you probably have done is very basic. It’s just some initial blood work to see how everything is functioning. And often your OBGYN, who is not a fertility specialist, doesn’t know all the right tests to order, or actually even to know when, on the right day of your cycle to order them. And so that’s where she started.
Zareen:
She did basic ultrasounds… Basic ultrasounds and everything was okay. The uterus is okay, ovaries are okay. My menstrual cycle was very timely. Everything was great. So as such, she wasn’t able to diagnose anything. And she said just to keep trying, give it some time more.
Dr. Marc Sklar:
Yeah. And so this is also important. It’s not that the testing that she did or any of you did initially is wrong or inappropriate, actually, not at all. It’s the right place to start. We need to make sure that the basic hormones are functioning properly. We need to make sure that your uterus is healthy, that the fallopian tubes are healthy. Hopefully at this point also you’ve had a semen analysis. These are all foundational things that we need to know are functioning properly to be able to move forward in the right place. So she had those things done. And that’s why her OB said, “Well, just keep trying.”
Zareen:
So anyways, it didn’t work. And back in India, obviously when one thing didn’t work, I moved to another doctor and same story goes there. And she did not say what… Or was able to tell us anything. Yeah, so I was under the… I was a case of unexplained infertility. Unexplained because doctors were not able to tell anything why it’s not happening. My husband’s sperm count was okay. Everything was okay from his end as well.
Dr. Marc Sklar:
So, we have to understand here, “unexplained” is a catchall term, that’s used often in the fertility world when we’re looking at trying to help patients determine why something’s going on, but unexplained doesn’t even tell us why something’s going on. Actually, what it tells me is that not enough testing has been done, that no one has bothered to look deeper or care enough, to look deeper, to find the answers as to why she or you haven’t been able to get pregnant. And so this is really frustrating, frustrating for all of us, right? Because unexplained is not helpful. And typically, what I find with unexplained is that it says, “Well, because it’s unexplained, let’s move you forward to IUI or IVF”. And there’s nothing wrong with IUI or IVF. And I have nothing against it. Although my preference is for all of you to get pregnant naturally, which is why I prefer it to find the root causes of your issues. And like what I did for Zareen here, is look for the root issues that might be contributing to the reproductive issues that are at hand.
Zareen:
Obviously I wanted to find the reason for it. Obviously there was a reason, but obviously doctors were not able to tell it. So, I saw around… Before approaching you Marc, I can say that I saw almost eight to nine doctors, and it wasn’t… It was very depressing. It was very depressing, right? And so when I came to U.S. And to call-
Dr. Marc Sklar:
So before she got to me, she went to see eight different doctors, whether they were OBGYN or fertility doctors, to help her figure out why, because what she wanted, and I’m sure what many of you want, is to figure out why, but she was frustrated because no one was looking for an answer. No one found an answer for her. And so that was very depressing to her as it is to many of us who are going through these same issues, but she decided to take a different approach. And that’s when she reached out to me.
Zareen:
So after seeing like four to five doctors in India, I came in U.S. and there also same story goes that they did every testing from the start, and they didn’t find anything. They asked us like, “Yeah, we should go for IUI”. So Okay… So they did, and my gynecologist here in U.S. made sure for me to go to fertility clinic, so they started off all the investigations and so I’m here sitting in the fertility clinic is like I did something-
Dr. Marc Sklar:
So before she came to see me, she was referred to a fertility clinic to do IUI. And that’s where she started here in the States, was with insemination after multiple physicians told her they couldn’t help her figure out what was going on.
Zareen:
Where it’s like, cattle, sitting in a row, ready to be impregnated. So.. It’s so very… I simply cannot put it in words, a moment like, “Okay, today’s my IUI”. I was… It’s so stressful that I used to be in there.
Dr. Marc Sklar:
So I’ve heard that saying before is that, which is what she said. I’m not sure if you’ve caught that, that when she went to the IVF clinic and she was sitting in the waiting room, that she felt like that her and all the other couples sitting there were like cattle, just waiting in line. Right. And I’ve heard this saying before, and again, I’ve got nothing against IVF, but some of that individuality is taken away. And so she was just feeling depressed and frustrated and stressed by the whole experience. Even up to the day of IUI.
Zareen:
The good feeling you are going through, it’s one thing, but more it’s the pain as well. I can completely relate with the females and nobody should go through. So in 2015… I think back in August, 2015, it didn’t work. Okay. So the doctor said, “Okay, it doesn’t… It’s not necessarily that it will happen in one go, so we should go on that though.” So in September of a 2015, I’m back… That second IUI was failed. So at that point of time, I was completely shattered, shattered is the word.
Dr. Marc Sklar:
So her IUI’s were unsuccessful. And again, she was left with no answers. She didn’t know how to move forward. And she was shattered emotionally.
Zareen:
So, I was so disappointed. So me and my husband, we decided that obviously there is a reason for it except unexplained infertility, but we really need to find the root cause then I, obviously, I approached you through your website and I approached you, I remember back in January, 2016. Yeah. January, 2016, and I started your treatment in February, 2016 and I got pregnant. I got my first positive pregnancy test in May, 2016, and that was-
Dr. Marc Sklar:
So she reached out to me for the first time in January of 2016, started working together in February of 2016 and got her first ever positive pregnancy test in May, 2016. I want to say that again. She had never had a positive pregnancy test prior to this. She had done multiple investigations and exams. She had done her IUI’s all in successful, and now she was pregnant.
Zareen:
Mind blowing. Your treatment, I don’t know, it was a magic wand, I don’t know, but it was awesome. It was great. And I cannot express my gratitude, Marc.
Dr. Marc Sklar:
So my treatments are not magic. If they were magic, I could just wave my wand like Harry Potter, and I could make anyone pregnant, but that’s not how my program works. It’s not how my treatments work. Because in this specific case, the magic was finding out what the root issues were for her. Which was the missing piece in her case and why she was diagnosed with unexplained infertility. She didn’t have unexplained infertility. She had autoimmune issues. She had thyroid issues. She had adrenal issues, which are stress issues. These are the things that we addressed in her, in a very short period of time. And one of the reasons why she was able to get pregnant in such a short period of time, because that’s not always the case, is because she committed fully to the process. She was committed to her, her husband and her health and reproductive function, because anything I asked her to do, she did it.
Dr. Marc Sklar:
She wanted to make sure she was doing everything perfectly and correctly, and that she was getting the answers that she deserved and the results that she wanted. And that’s why those things happened as fast as they did for her, was because we found the right answers, the right cause to her issues, and then created the appropriate plan for her to facilitate.
Dr. Marc Sklar:
My work is not magic. My work is giving you the power, the knowledge, the understanding to make the right decisions, the appropriate decisions for your health, your fertility, to get the results. And that’s exactly what she did, which is why she got the results that she got.
Zareen:
Marc, I see it as you have… You are a God-sent blessing. It’s worth every penny. Your treatment is worth every, every penny. I mean it. Well, once you hold the baby in your arms, you will forget everything.
Dr. Marc Sklar:
She forgot all those struggles when she had her baby, finally. It doesn’t mean that her struggles weren’t real. It doesn’t mean your struggles aren’t real. Just because we tend to focus on the positive things and forget the negative things after we’ve been successful, doesn’t mean that that journey wasn’t impactful. It was impactful for her. And now it can be impactful for you. Your journey, the struggles are all part of this process, but I don’t want your journey and your struggles to be as long as hers, right? They don’t have to be. If we find the right answers, and you deserve to find the right answers in your fertility case, so that you can achieve the desired goal that you want, which is a pregnancy and healthy baby.
Dr. Marc Sklar:
So the one thing that I want all of you to take home after watching this video is that unexplained infertility is only unexplained because somebody didn’t look deep enough to find the right answer.
Dr. Marc Sklar:
They didn’t investigate to figure out what the root cause was of her problems or your problems, for that matter. Unexplained infertility actually does not exist in my opinion. There’s always a root cause. The secret here is finding the cause, then creating a plan to fix it, so that your reproductive system can begin functioning properly once again.
Dr. Marc Sklar:
