We have a wide range of tests to cover your health needs. Order with next day delivery and avoid sitting in a doctor’s office or clinic.
One day you’re doing everything you can to avoid getting pregnant, you’ve got birth control pills, condoms, the IUD. And then one day you hit 35 and you decide to start having a family, so you’re doing everything you can to get pregnant. So you walk into your OB/GYN’s office and she says, “You know what? You’re one of my geriatric patients. That’s right, you’re too old so you need to start thinking about fertility in a different way.” Does this sound familiar? Do you agree with it, because I don’t. How about you stick with me to find out the number one thing that I recommend you do now, if you’re trying to get pregnant. If you think 35 or older is a fantastic age to get pregnant, then I want you to hit the like button so that you could show everybody else that you’re on the same team with them and you’re all together working together to get pregnant.
Hi, I’m Dr. Marc Sklar, The Fertility Expert, and I work with couples from all over the world, helping you get pregnant naturally. So if you want more information and more help to get pregnant naturally, then make sure you hit the like button and that you hit that bell to subscribe so that you know when I’m putting out my next video so I can help you too.
So when it comes to age or being told that you’re too old, I think there’s a couple of things that we need to discuss first and foremost, one is, have you ever heard that saying that age is just a number or I’m only as old as how healthy I am? These things are absolutely true and can absolutely be true for you with your fertility health and fertility age. So here are the key factors that I want you to consider as you are deciding to have a family or deciding to expand your family and as it relates to your age.
First and foremost, it’s family planning, right? So how many children do you want and what’s the timing of those in terms of spacing, that’s going to help determine some of the decisions you make in the process of your fertility journey. Do you have enough time to get to that specific number of children? So I have a couple that I’m working with and they want four kids, right, but they’re in their middle to late 30’s, respectively each one of them, she’s 35 and he’s 36 or 37 I think. So when you think about that and they want four children, the spacing there is with 10 to 12 months of pregnancy depending on how you’re counting and all of that, and then she wants to breastfeed afterwards, so you count a year for that. That’s a two year spacing in between each child, right? So they have to think about the spacing of all of that and their family planning. So that’s what I mean about family planning, how many children do you want and timing.
All right, number two, family history. How old was your mom or grandmother when they had children, or their last children, because that’s going to potentially affect you or play a role in your planning, or at least it does for me when I work with my patients. And then also family, medical history, not just yours but your mothers and grandmothers, right? Do they have any history in their medical history that might influence some of the decisions we need to make for you?
Number three, impacts on your health. How is your overall health, right? How is the health of your cells, by just your overall health I don’t just mean like appearance wise, but inside how is the health of your cells, and so we’ll talk about in just a minute how to determine that, how to figure that out. And then, what factors are impacting your health? These are some key basic factors that impact everybody’s health, including your fertility and reproductive health. And so I talk about these often, but number one is stress, stress has a huge impact on your overall health and reproductive health. Sleep, which is one of the ones that gets forgotten all the time. Exercise and diet, right? These four are the four pillars of your foundational health, your cellular health and your reproductive health, and we need to make sure that those are all solid so that you can build everything else around that.
And then number four, which in my opinion right now is one of the more important things that we’re going to talk about, is your hormones. How are your hormones acting? Is everything normal? Is your menstrual cycle normal? If it’s not, what is it telling you, right? These have dramatic impacts on your reproductive health, and the determination is regarding if you’re too old or not, or if you believe that you’re too old or not. Cervical mucus can tell us so much about your hormones and if they’re acting properly.
I do have another video specifically on cervical mucus, you can check it out right here if you want to. And then testing, testing is so important when it comes to hormones, your reproductive age, your overall cellular age, and your health. So testing is essential, okay? And one of the key factors here when it comes to testing is not to guess, test, don’t guess. Get real answers, get real information with regards to your hormones and all your other parameters with blood work. And this is the piece that I want to spend the most time with all of you right now, okay?
So most of us have had a very minimal amount of testing done or hormone testing done, and hormone testing is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to testing. Many of you haven’t had a more extensive hormone testing done, often I review labs that are done on the wrong days of your cycle. So there’s lots of misinformation and misunderstanding, and when you walk into your OB’s office, they usually just test one or two parameters and your fertility doctor is also usually going to just only check one or two, maybe three, parameters when they’re looking at your hormones. Because what they’re all looking for is, are your hormones healthy enough for you to go through IVF?
And for those of you who want to go through or do need to go through IVF, that’s totally fine, but it doesn’t give us an accurate picture as to what’s going on inside your body. So I want to give you the resources right now to get your testing done on your own, at home, in the comfort of your own home, in the safety of your own home, and without anybody else’s opinion, you’re just gathering information. And so this is key to creating your fertility plan and taking control of your fertility and taking control of your health.
So LetsGetChecked is my favorite lab testing company for all of you for many, many reasons. One is, it delivers an accredited lab test directly to your house that you can do in the comfort of your own home, it provides the results in two to five days online in your private portal, and there’s no more physicians or office visits needed because you can take care of this on your own, in the comfort of your own home. It’s a simple little box right here, right? It’s discreet delivery. So it doesn’t come like this in the box, it’s a discreet envelope, discreet delivery. So no one knows that you’re having lab testing done or blood testing done. You can order on the go without having to visit a doctor’s office like I mentioned, and you can collect the samples really easily at home.
So what they do is, you get this little card inside, when you open it up, you get this little card and it gives you your code and so forth so that you can get your results and it all knows and it’s matched with you. You fill that out up here, you collect the sample very easily at home into this little guy, right, very, very easy. I’m going to take this apart so you can see. Actually, it also comes with all of your instructions, step by step instructions, very easy to follow, right here. And it allows you to have all the little tools so you need nothing more, everything comes in this package for you to be able to collect the blood sample on your own. It’s a little fingerprint, you drip it into this little vial like I mentioned, and then you seal it up, and it comes with a little bag and everything to be able to ship everything right back to them, very quickly and so that you can get your results back quickly as well.
Once your results make it back to the lab, then you can review your lab results in two to five days in your personalized private and secure online portal, so that there’s no confusion there and no one can access it but you. And they do have an amazing medical team, if you have any questions before, during, or after the process to help support you, not only to collect your samples, but if you’ve got questions about your results, they will also support you through that process as well.
So earlier I talked about all the different tests that I think are important for you to do. So the nice thing is at LetsGetChecked, It’s not just about your fertility hormones, although for me that’s obviously the most important, but I’m actually on their website right now and they have tons of different tests that you can order. So just to name a few, many of you who are starting to do some fertility testing always needs your STDs tested in your viral, so they have those. For women, you’ve got a full fertility panel, you can check your ovarian reserve test with AMH, you can check just progesterone, so all your main fertility hormones. For the men, you can do all your hormones as well. And then on top of it they have a full thyroid testing, vitamin testing, nutrients, folate, liver, CRP, cholesterol, cortisol, diabetes markers.
They have tons and tons of really, really important lab tests that gives you a very comprehensive understanding and analysis of your body so that you know exactly where you need to spend your time to improve, not only your overall health, your cellular health, but your reproductive health as well. So what I think, with regards to many of you, and I know this because it’s the same thing for all the patients that I work with to create a personalized plan, is that I think you have not had enough testing done and enough of the right testing done.
So that’s exactly why I’m recommending that you all check out LetsGetChecked, to get all the proper testing done that you need in the comfort of your own home and controlled by you instead of having to wait for somebody else to order it. On top of that, I also asked them to give all of you a discount. So to get a discount on placing your order, all you have to do is use the code, DRMARC20, that’s D-R-M-A-R-C 20 at checkout, and they’ll give you a code that you can use to help get a discount on all your lab testing needs.
I’m curious, how old are you? I want you to leave a comment below with just your age so I know how old everybody is who’s watching this video. So remember, age is just a number and it’s actually the only number you can’t change, you have no control over the age of your body, but you do have control over the age of your cells and what your fertility hormones are actually telling you. You can control all those things, you can change all those things, and the start to that, the beginning of that is getting all the right information so that you test and don’t guess, and that’s why you need this guy to do that. Remember, use the code, DRMARC20, to get the test kit. That’s D-R-M-A-R-C 20 to get the test kit, and I’m going to leave that code for you below in the comments.
Hopefully you all start by getting the right information for yourself so that you can create a proper plan to improve your health, your fertility, and your cellular age so that you can get pregnant no matter what age you are. Thanks for watching Fertility TV, I’m going to leave a few more videos right here that I think can help you get pregnant naturally. And until next time, stay fertile.
