Transcription :
Oh that ever elusive magic pill to help you get pregnant yesterday. Wouldn’t that be fantastic? Well, some of you, or many of you, would assume that IVF is that actual magic pill. But if you’ve been following me for any length of time, then you know that I like to explore the natural fertility options first before we have to go towards IUI or IVF. So, in this video, I’m going to talk about some of the basics to help you get pregnant naturally. And I’m going to share my five thoughts of what I’ve learned from working with all of you, actually all of the members in my Hope Fertility Coaching Program, that I think could be beneficial to you on your fertility journey. So keep watching to learn all the amazing details I’m about to share in this video.
Hi, my name is Dr. Marc Sklar, also known as the fertility expert, and I’ve been working with couples for over 19 years through my online coaching programs and right here in sunny San Diego to help you get pregnant naturally. So before I get into the five tips or lessons that I’ve learned from all those members in my Hope Coaching Program, I do want to mention some of the basics to help all of you, for sure make sure that your foundational fertility process is where it needs to be as you move forward.
So if you’re 35 and older, one of the first and potentially most important things that we all need is a plan. Why is that information you should be telling me?” Well, I can’t tell you how many of you, actually the majority of you, watching do not have a plan. Do not have a plan for the process that you need to follow. And more specifically, do not have a plan for your unique needs. And that’s why having a plan is so important because all of you are individuals who need different adjustments, different supplements, different lifestyle management tools, different sleeping habits. Right? Everything is unique for all of us, for each one of us. And that’s why a plan is so important because it needs to be based on your needs, not somebody else’s.
So I do have, and I do cover all of those topics in this specific training right over here and that link is also going to be in the description below, where I go over the 12 areas that you need to start to look at and why they’re important. So if you want to set a proper foundation and you haven’t already done that, then I encourage you to check out this training.
Okay, so the first lesson that I have learned from those members in my coaching program is stop and breathe. You might be saying, “Really? Marc, stop and breathe? What does that mean and why?” Well, this means for you to pause and reflect on what you’ve been doing and where you’ve been. Take a moment to reflect at your journey and how you feel about that process. Does it feel right for you? Do you feel like you’ve accomplished all the necessary things? Do you feel like you’ve approached it the right way? Often what I hear from my members is that that’s not the case, is that when they pause, take a step back and reanalyze what they’ve been doing, they realize that they’ve been on this hamster wheel. And now it’s time for them to get off and reassess their process, learn more about their individual health issues and move forward, hopefully in the right way and in the right direction.
Lesson two, look for progress, not perfection. Now you’ve probably heard me say this before, but I learn this almost every day from those members in my coaching program, because we share wins regularly. We ask all of our members to share their progress, share their wins, because it’s very easy to focus on the negative things and all the bigger things maybe that you haven’t accomplished. But it takes those baby steps. Those little wins, that little incremental progress to reach your goal and get your overall bigger win. And so that’s why focusing and reminding yourself about progress and not perfection and taking those baby steps is so important. So those little wins, my cycle’s better. My bleed is better. My cycle’s longer or I’m ovulating now or I can see and track my hormonal shifts. There’s a myriad of things. You’ve lost a little bit of weight, whatever it might be, but it’s about progress. And I want all of you to remember that because that is what gets you to the bigger win.
Lesson number three, seek the proper help. Now you might be saying, “Well, why is this important? And what does it really mean?” Well, all too often with those members that I’m coaching, I ask them to reach back out to their fertility clinics or their OBGYNs for more lab work or more support, whatever it might be. And often they do not feel like they’re getting it. They feel like they’re a number, that they’re ignored, that they’re pushed aside, dismissed for the request that they’re asking for. If you are not getting the attention that you deserve, if you are not getting what you need, and if you’re not getting the results that you want, and more importantly, if you just feel like you’re a hamster in a science experiment, then you need to get new help. You need to search for proper help, for someone who’s going to pay attention and work with you and get you the results that you deserve.
Lesson number four, make sure that you and your partner are on the same page. Again, it sounds simple, but I can’t tell you how often that is just not the case. Sit down and have a conversation. It may be awkward, but it’s going to be more awkward when you guys are working in different paths and not getting the results that you want. So it’s really important that you both are on the same page with the same goals and that you both know what your goals are. Where’s that line that you need to draw in the sand so that when you know that you need to move in a different direction? Whatever it might be, but make sure that you and your partner are on the same page and that you’re having regular conversations. Not daily, but regular conversations to make sure that you are still on the same page and moving towards the right goal. I see this as a huge roadblock in so many journeys.
Lesson number five, don’t do this alone. Get the support that you need. Talk with friends, find a community that can support you. This is one of the most valuable lessons that I learned from my Hope Coaching Program is the community that we’ve created with all these couples and all these women supporting each other, they’re not always just reaching out for my support to get my guidance. They’re reaching out for the community’s support. And it’s so valuable. These are not just my words. These are their words that they get to hear from others. They also get to hear my answers in the weekly group coaching calls to other people’s questions, which also gives them tons of support. So having a community to support you and to lean on and have friends that can support you and to lean on is so valuable in difficult and hard times. And certainly our fertility journeys can be exactly that. So I want to encourage all of you to actually find the friends, find the community and find the support that you need to help you get through this process.
You deserve to understand your health, your fertility, and your body. That’s right. You deserve answers. You deserve to understand your health, your fertility, and your options.
