Dr. Marc Sklar:

Women often go to their doctors in hopes of understanding why they’re not able to get pregnant, trying to figure out what’s preventing them. Instead of getting answers, they’re often told answers like this, “Everything looks fine. Everything’s totally normal. Just keep trying.” Being diagnosed with unexplained infertility happen so often that so many of you just accept that diagnosis and believe there’s absolutely nothing that can be done about it. Luckily, one of my program members Jamie decided that that wasn’t an acceptable answer for her.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

She decided that she wanted to do something about this, and she wanted to figure out why she wasn’t able to get pregnant. And that’s the exact story that I’m going to share with all of you today. She knew something was wrong. She just didn’t know what it was. So she needed help to find out what was going on and what to do about it. As a result, she was able to figure out, or we were able to figure out, what was going on and she was able to get pregnant in a matter of months.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

Keep watching because I’m going to talk about what we did for her and possibly what you should be doing too. My name is Dr. Marc Sklar, also known as The Fertility Expert, and welcome to Fertility TV, your YouTube channel dedicated to helping you get pregnant. I’ve been helping couples for over 18 years through my online programs, which allow everyone in the world to participate and get pregnant, and right here in San Diego at both of my clinics.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

And since I mentioned my online programs, I just want to let you all know that my Hope Fertility Coaching Program is open for enrollment. If you want private coaching, if you want help figuring out why you’re not able to get pregnant and you want my team to support you, then I want to invite you to apply to see if you qualify to join the Hope Fertility Program. Use the link in the description below to apply. So in just a moment, I’m going to actually share Jamie’s testimonial.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

I want you to hear from her in her own words what it was like, what it meant, and what the results were for her. Before I do that, I want to hear from all of you. Comment below and let me know, have you been told that you have unexplained infertility? If so, what did you do about it? Did you say, “Okay, well, there’s nothing I can do, or did you say, “No way I’m going to figure out why and what’s going on?” Comment below and let me know. So now let’s hear from Jamie.

Jamie:

I got pregnant very easily again, but I miscarried, which happened, so didn’t really think much of it. And then it happened again, and it happened again and again and again. It had been like seven or eight times in a row. It’s like you think there’s something wrong with me. I really wanted one more baby, I couldn’t understand why it changed. It’s not like I waited another 10 years to try.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

Here’s the thing, we already hear from Jamie right from the get go, she had multiple miscarriages. Not just one. Many, many, many. I think her number, I think, she said seven or eight and it could very well have been that many. It could have been actually more, because some of them were chemical pregnancies as well. But she had many losses. And remember, when we started this video, we talked about unexplained, so she had all these recurrent pregnancy losses and they still said everything was okay.

Jamie:

I was much older now than maybe when I had my other kids.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

Okay, a little older.

Jamie:

It’s just like very confusing for me and very kind of lonely, because it’s like when you go through fertility issues, it seems like everyone around you is having babies. No problem. And I just was like, well, it’s not that bad compared to other people’s stories, but I was definitely struggling emotionally and also just medically. Clearly there was something going on and no one could give me any answers. Because I did go to my… I work at a hospital, a very good hospital actually, and I had the whole workup fertility wise.

Jamie:

They at the end couldn’t explain anything. It was sort of unexplained secondary infertility. The imaging studies that were done came back fine. My husband’s semen analysis was like really good, excellent, no problems there. I didn’t have any answers, but I knew that there was something wrong and I had asked for some more testing.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

Before I let her continue, I want to just point out a couple of things here is she knew a couple of things. One is that she knew inside, she listened to her gut, she listened to herself, and she knew that something was wrong. Something was wrong physically, medically, that something was wrong. And on top of that, because of all the losses and because of all the trials and tribulations with it, she was starting to feel emotionally drained. It was difficult emotionally as well. These are things that we had to address with Jamie.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

We had to address her mental side, her emotional side, that component, to allow her to believe that she could get pregnant again and hold a healthy pregnancy. So that was one aspect of it. And the second aspect of it was her believing in her body’s ability again, because she was told that there was nothing wrong. She did all this testing, as you just heard her say, and everything was just fine, right?

Jamie:

Sort of more in depth on certain things and as Marc talked about like common… A common answer for these additional testing is, “No. We don’t do that. It’s not important. You don’t need to go there.” The found Marc just sort of following some other fertility people on Instagram.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

Before she talks a little bit more about how she found me and what happened next, I do want to say this comment that she said about the additional testing that she was told that, “No, they’re not necessary. They’re not going to give us answers,” this is a common answer that you get from your healthcare provider. It’s okay to be aggressive. It’s okay to be proactive and request those labs. I want everyone listening to also know that if one person says no, it doesn’t mean you give up.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

You find somebody who’s going to get you what you need and get you the answers that you deserve, which is what Jamie did. So let’s keep listening.

Jamie:

His name popped up and I started following him, and I just really… Something clicked in my brain. I really liked what he was offering in his… Just his presence, like it felt like, oh, this is somebody who may be able to help me because he specifically helps people who maybe go to their traditional doctors and they don’t really get very far. I messaged him and right away he said, “Absolutely. We’re going to do…” He did some digger deeping for me. He did a very in-depth nutrient panel on me.

Jamie:

And in fact, I was in the red zone, meaning super deficient in multiple things. I definitely hesitated, and I wish I had reached out sooner. I think I probably followed Marc for close to a year before I even messaged him, and I was hesitant to message. I will never forget how lonely and I [inaudible 00:07:15] How just as a female going through fertility issues specifically, it’s like you really feel like either you’re broke and there’s something wrong. For the first time in my life, very depressed.

Jamie:

I didn’t even really think to sort of look for alternative sources of health, because I thought like here I work at one of the best hospitals in the world and they’re telling me there’s nothing wrong with me. It’s just your age. Keep trying. Something will eventually work at some point.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

So at some point and she says she wished she had looked sooner. I do want to comment on that, by the way, for everybody listening is I hear that often. And I want to encourage all of you, just listen to your gut, listen to your female intuition that’s telling you either something’s wrong. You deserve more answers. You need to look elsewhere, right? Sometimes we bury that because we don’t want to listen. And I want to encourage you all to listen to that, which is what Jamie started to do at some point.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

She also started to recognize is that she needed more answers, that she wasn’t getting those answers there. When she reached out to me and she told me her history of extensive pregnancy loss, I knew that we needed to look deeper. I knew that we needed to look for answers, and I also knew that we were going to find something. And that’s really the key here is that we needed to find the real things for her.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

There were some nutrient deficiencies that needed to be addressed, and so we started to address those things, which is often the case for many of us because we don’t get what we need from the food and environment and the water that we drink, right? We don’t get the nutrition. We don’t get the minerals. We don’t get the nutrients that we need and that we deserve and used to get many, many years ago, which is why we also ran that panel for her.

Jamie:

Thank God I came across Marc because his message of hope, of course, is so positive and uplifting, which is what I needed to hear at the time, because I just felt like I definitely felt hopeless, because this had been going on for a couple of years. I just thought, all right, that’s it for me. His approach was different and he did often have clients who their doctor said the same thing, “Oh, there’s nothing wrong that we can see here. Maybe it’s either not going to happen or her it’s just a matter of time.”

Jamie:

I didn’t want a matter of time because I had already been struggling for two years. I wish I had reached out sooner, but I really felt like the second I spoke with Marc individually and had a conversation, I don’t know, it just felt right. I don’t know, his demeanor, his words of encouragement, something clicked. I didn’t feel like it was like someone is just trying to make money off me at all. If I felt that I wouldn’t have, I wouldn’t have gone forward with the program, because my my suspicions and his suspicions were correct.

Jamie:

There was something wrong. Had I listened to my conventional doctors, I would have never found the answer.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

Here’s the thing, we needed to dig deeper for Jamie. As many of you, we also have to dig deeper. But with her history, I was able to see that there were a lot of tests that weren’t run that had to do with recurrent pregnancy loss. So we ran those tests. We did find out that there was an issue with her NK cells, which did need to be addressed. We also looked at those micronutrients, which I mentioned earlier, and those need to be addressed.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

When you start looking at zinc deficiencies and vitamin D deficiencies and so forth, those things need to be supported and addressed as well. And often when I talk about recurrent pregnancy loss, I never forget to mention male factor. And even though Jamie mentioned in the beginning that her husband’s semen analysis was great, when we ran a DNA fragmentation test, we did come to find out that there was a slight issue there that also needed to be supported, which is a very common reason, by the way, why we have recurrent pregnancy loss or miscarriages on the male side.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

These were all variables that needed to be addressed. And I want to encourage all of you that these are similar things that you all need to start to have testing done for if you have a history of pregnancy loss or unexplained infertility. Testing or knowing is half the battle. And that’s what we were able to figure out with her, because that really set the stage for everything else moving forward. It helped me create a plan for her, and then she just had to follow a plan, which is not so easy, but she did it and she did it really, really well.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

And with that, we were able to get the results that she wanted and deserved, and that I wanted to see her get. So let’s finish listening.

Jamie:

Oh my gosh. It’s like worth its weight in gold. I’m 38 now, so had the baby a week ago. My baby is at eight days old now.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

Eight days old.

Jamie:

I have this beautiful baby boy.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

When she gave the testimonial.

Jamie:

My miracle baby is a reality. When I spoke to Marc and I told him that and I said I will never forget this help that he gave me because it is a miracle. Every baby is a miracle, but this specifically. I know that I reached out to the right person.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

For me, I hold all my patients dearly in my heart because I want to support them. I want to see the results. Jamie holds a special place in my heart because of where she was when she came to me. It was difficult. She didn’t believe in herself. She didn’t believe it was possible. She was down and depressed, as she said, and she was able to turn it around. It was just that little spark of hope, right, that allowed her to turn it around, to start to believe in herself. And a lot of that happened when we were able to get real answers, which started with real testing.

Dr. Marc Sklar:

I want to encourage all of you, listen to your gut. Listen to your female intuition. Believe in yourself. And more importantly, you deserve answers. Get answers as to why things are not working out for you. And from there, the path starts to become brighter. The direction of where you need to go brightens up and becomes a bit easier and more straightforward. I want that for all of you. So again, just a little reminder for all of you, leave a comment below, let me know what did you like about Jamie’s story? What resonated with you?

Dr. Marc Sklar:

And what’s the one thing that you are going to take out of this story and start to incorporate into your own fertility journey? I want to hear from you. So let me know. Comment below, please. As a little reminder, if you want to try to achieve the same results as Jamie, then I want to invite you to apply for a discovery call to see if you’re the right fit for my Hope Fertility Coaching Program.
